CrossFit Level 1 Trainer, USA Weightlifting Level 1 Trainer

Coach Phila was born and raised in Spartanburg, SC. She is a graduate of Spartanburg High School, where she participated in Track and Field. Throughout her time in high school sports, she also weightlifted.

After high school, she joined the United States Army and continued her physical fitness while stationed in Hawaii. She also ran numerous 5k’s and a half marathon during that time, and has continued running in road races since returning to Spartanburg.

Phila has always loved fitness, so when she got out of the Army, she wanted to do something more — and then she found CrossFit. She started her Crossfit journey in 2018, falling in love with the intensity of the workout along with the positive and supportive community. Because of this, she decided she want to help others and become a coach. Heavy lifting and barbell movements are her favorite, so she decided to get her USA Weightlifting Level 1 certification in 2019. Soon after, she became a Crossfit Level 1 Trainer in February 2020.

Outside of CrossFit, Phila is currently enrolled in college for her Associate’s degree and is also a full-time mom to Raiden, her son. She enjoys spending her time with her family and binging shows on Netflix, and you can always find her in the gym!
